Learn-To-Curl

We will be hosting a small group beginner’s session on Saturday April 15th and Saturday, April 22nd from 4:15 – 6:30 pm.  Join us to learn the sport of curling and to get prepared to participate in our upcoming Fall League.  The cost is $30 per person.  Each participant will receive a FREE voucher for a return session!  So, you could learn to curl on the 15th and play a free game on the 22nd!  Contact us with any questions.

Please email info@coastalcurling.com to assure that we still have space available or click the Registration link below for advance registration.  Participants in any learn-to-curl or beginner’s lesson are prepared and welcome to play as an alternate in our  Fall League.

We welcome everyone to join us to learn how to curl!  Relatively new clean sneakers or tennis shoes and warm comfortable clothes (blue jeans and boots, dock shoes or heels: not suggested) are all that you need to bring.  Our club will provide everything else you need to start curling.

Watch the report: Curling Alive And Well Along the Coast by Mike Toper of Time Warner News.

Beginners start with a half-hour off-ice session in which we go over the basics of curling: safety, terminology, delivery and more.  Then we head out to the ice for small group instruction on sweeping, delivery, release and finish by curling a couple ends.   Our focus is to have new curlers feeling confident to join a league immediately!

Even if you are unable to lunge like an Olympian, you can still curl.  Many folks deliver the stone with a stick from a walking delivery making it a sport all ages and even non-ambulant/wheelchair athletes can play.  Please note that minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and we find that children under the age of 12 are likely to find it difficult to deliver a 40 pound stone the length of the ice.
